On February 22nd, Azerbaijani painter, people’s artist of the republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Arif-Huseynov gave a truly inspirational speech at our school. He mentioned the importance of art in our society and motivated our students to continue developing in this fascinating sphere. Mr. Arif spans over 40 eventful years in the history of Azerbaijani art. Some of his famous masterpieces include: Baku and Bakuvians series, Pallete of friendship series and more.
The history of nations is often marked by unforgettable events that leave a lasting impression on their collective memory. One such tragic event was the genocide in Khojaly, committed on the night of February 25-26, 1992, which continues to be remembered even after many years. “Karabakhname. Pages of history” is a series of works by People’s Artist of Azerbaijan and Professor Arif Huseynov, which serves as a commemoration of the shameful night and an indictment of Armenian cruelty.
“Karabakhname. Pages of history” is a collection of more than 50 works in the genre of documentary graphics, including a powerful triptych featuring the executed busts of poetess Khurshidbanu Natavan, composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli, and opera singer Bulbul. The author himself, Arif Huseynov, shared the story behind the creation of these works with students, providing them with an opportunity to witness the series firsthand. The works are a haunting reminder of the atrocities committed during the Khojaly genocide and a tribute to the memory of those who lost their lives.
Moreover, a special masterclass has been conducted to demonstrate ADA students artistic capabilities and for encouraging them to continue working on their skills. Once again we thank Mr.Arif for sharing his views and providing crucial points for further development of our students.
