The well-known Azerbaijani millionaire, patron of the arts Tagiyev kept an old axe among his money. The axe reminded him of the tough periods when he started earning his first money. This interesting fact was told to the 11A2 and 11B1 grades in the Museum of the History of Azerbaijan.
The residence of the renowned benefactor is the first component of the exhibition! Taghiyev import a magnificent chandelier from Paris to decorate a large hall for guests. There were also wonderful piano and harmonium. After all, young Taghiyev supported his family by working as a stonecutter! The hatchet remained in place, reminding the great enlightener of his beginnings.
The second section features exhibits of ancient and Middle Ages craftsmen. Jugs, dishes, weapons, candelabra, and oil lamps are examples of pottery and jewelry artistry.
When you see museum exhibits, your imagination takes you to the distant past, and you feel the atmosphere of this time!
I was pleasantly surprised by the lively participation of the students. It is gratifying to see that historical artifacts can be so impressive!
Love history – she is the teacher of the future!
Organizer of the trip Mr Vagif Gaziev
It was one of the most interesting trips I’ve had yet. Since we went by bus, I was playing on my ukulele and sang along with our teacher, Mr. Vagif. When we arrived to the museum, I felt as if my eyes were deceiving me, it looked so beautiful. Mr. Vagif took our class around and told us about items in these rooms. His words made me feel like I was living through the history that very Saturday afternoon, such a delightful experience. My biggest thanks to Mr. Vagif for this trip!

During the excursion organized by Mr. Vagif, we were able to accumulate lots of interesting facts starting from the medieval ages all the way to the 20th century. It is also worthwhile mentioning that the main focus of the whole excursion was taking place inside of Zeynalabdins Taghiyevs house, which is a true gem on its own, since we were able to examine some memorizing features of his house and had a chance to learn about his life, furthermore we analyzed pictures of his oil fields and took note of his efforts to open schools for girls, which was a huge accomplishment to improve education in our beloved country.
